Step 1: Provider-Level Certification & Prerequisites
Candidates must hold a current, unexpired AHA Provider certification in the discipline they wish to teach (Heartsaver® or Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers):

Step 2: AHA Instructor Essentials (Online Module)
Complete the official AHA Instructor Essentials online self-paced coursework prior to attending the classroom session:
- Learn the core mechanics of AHA classroom organization, student testing standards, and didactic philosophy.
- Review course delivery policies, equipment decontamination, and official training documentation rules.
Step 3: Hands-On Instructor Classroom Training
Attend our interactive, in-person training session focusing on effective instruction techniques, group coaching, and rigorous remediation methods:
- Facilitation Skills: Learn how to manage practice-while-watching video blocks and conduct high-energy, engaging sessions.
- Skills Assessment: Master precise evaluation using objective AHA skill testing checklists for adult, child, and infant scenarios.

Step 4: Monitoring, Alignment & Credentialing
Complete your teaching evaluation and align with an authorized Training Center to begin issuing official completion cards:
- Successfully teach a monitored class under the guidance of our experienced Training Center Faculty.
- Receive your official 2-year AHA Instructor certification and access the AHA Instructor Network to issue digital eCards.
